20/09/2016
The market for comics in Poland has grown rapidly over the past few years with an increasing number of Polish comic books and magazines.
It seems that The People's Republic of Poland discouraged the term komiks as a 'demoralising Western influence' and they were actually illegal and forbidden from 1947 to 1957. Instead the terms historyjki obrazkowe (graphic stories)' or 'c kolorowe zeszyty ( color books) were preferred. In modern Poland those terms have largely been forgotten and the formerly discouraged English loanword is now the common term.

The website MuslimGirl.net is run by young Muslim women wishing to speak rather than be spoken for or about.

Future Shock! The story of 2000AD
24/02/2016
Future Shock is a documentary created by Nick Harwood, Jim Hinson, Sean Logan, Helen Mullane, and Neil Collymore. The film is largely a talking heads event but the heads do have some noteworthy things in them. I will carp and cavil about it later but it is an interesting, informative and even entertaining 105 minutes.
Ostensibly about the history of 2000AD . . .
