29/10/2021  here is a picture of the most villainous character in Mazeworld. Never named in the book and Initially appearing in angel form he is revealed, as he describes himself, as “ the terror at the centre of the maze . . “ “. . the embodiment of evil”.

In the book his throne is drawn as being of a relatively modest kind. Here it is made grander - in part because he deserves it, but largely because it was more interesting to design a new one than repeat the original.. These "drawings" are unrequested and done after all largely for my own entertainment.

Hi Arthur,

Hope all's well. He's certainly spreading out more in his new capacious throne. Great to see these updated Mazeworld scenes ~ keep 'em coming!

All the Best,

Andy.

Hullo Andy,

right.

Having  chosen to do something quite complicated I think it will be a while before you see it.

Best,

Arthur

Hello mr.Ranson, i'm really glad to see that you are doing mazeworld art, big fan of all your work but mazeworld in particular is one of my favourite comics ever. Sadly here in my country (Spain) it has never been traslated or properly published.

PS: sorry if my english is lacking

Hullo Joan,

thank you for the compliment.

No plans that I am aware of to do a Spanish version I regret to say

Your English is better than my Spanish. I never got much beyond "dos cervezas por favor"

Thanks again.

All the best.

Arthur

Hullo Joan,

I am an idiot.

A spanish company  took up rights to publish a Mazeworld translation last September.

I have not been sent a copy so perhaps it is still not yet in print. but presumably will be soon.

Hope you see this.

Best,

Arthur

Hello Arthur.

Thanks for the information, after reading your message i searched through several spanish comic publishers and did not found anything about a spanish Mazeworld edition so i imagine it has not been printed yet. In any case i'm really happy to see your work being published here, i hope they make a good quality compilation of all three mazeworld stories.

Yours Sincerely

Joan

Hullo Joan,

I'm afraid I don't know the name of the company that intended to do the Spanish edition or what has happened to their plans.

It would be (have been?) the complete collection.

If or when it does happen I will announce it here.

Take care.

Best.

Arthur

Hullo Joan,

The Spanish translation of Mazeworld will be published by Cartem Books
https://cartembooks.com/

The files went to them in September, so they would have been working over the last few months and printing in the new year.

Best,

Arthur

Hullo Joan,

if you are still visiting - I have been told the Spanish edition of Buttonman  is expected in Summer of 2022.

Take care,

Best,

Arthur

Hi Arthur, first of all Happy 2022, second do you mean buttonman or mazeworld?

Buttonman was already published in Spain by ECC in 2016, It was in softcover and separated in 4 volumes

I already own the buttonman stories but i would gladly buy them again if they did a new hardcover edition.

Hullo Joan,

I'm an idiot - of course I meant Mazeworld.

Buttonman was on my mind because I was recently promised an update on the possibility of a movie.

I'm touched that you keep coming back.

Thank you for the good wishes.

Take care,

Arthur

Hullo Joan,

thanks for the information. I hadn't heard.

Hope it meets your expectations.

'Mundo Laberinto' sounds even more exciting as a title than 'Mazeworld'.

All the best.

Arthur
